In this book, cave divers share their experiences. Their purpose is to provide the most basic and useful advice for starting and practicing cave diving. The manual does not explain the decompression or mixed gas diving theory or techniques or how to use special instruments. Open Water diving should be familiar to the reader.
The manual is intended for divers who intend to operate in submerged, flooded environments, while avoiding some of the common pitfalls that have led to many fatal accidents in the past. The text also discusses the English influence on solo diving in addition to the well known French-Swiss approach. Several clear drawings demonstrate basic equipment and procedures underwater, and there is a whole chapter dedicated to research and survey techniques.
A number of authors have provided examples of special environmental conditions and solutions to problems based on their personal experiences.
The English version will be available in the coming months.
